FIT GUIDANCE

Our garments are not skin tight. So they'll be closer to the fit of your work & leisure wardrobe NOT your tight lycra gear!!

They are designed to be close fitting to reduce wind resistance whilst cycling, but sufficiently loose to be casual off the bike. They are ergonomically designed and tested to suit a cycling position and active lifestyle. Think ‘tailored athletic’.

Our sizing is based on an average fairly athletic build, not super-skinny. Our sizes are made to match industry averages. They're cut long at the back for cycling.

Garments such as merino jerseys and t-shirts can be worn a size smaller for a skintight fit, as our merino garments are woven with plenty of comfortable stretch in them. Jackets are sized to go over a lightweight top and a light jumper. If you will be wearing heavy layers underneath, we recommend you go one up in size. There are not large size jumps in our range.

Gilets are sized to go over a light top or lightweight jacket. You can up a size to go over heavier clothing.

WOMEN’S SIZING

Vulpine released its first dedicated women's specific garment in August '12, the Women's Merino Button Jersey. We have many more due in March 2013.

Lots of garments have been designed and put through Research & Development already. But the cost of producing quantities of any new garment are extremely high for a small business. We hope you can bear with us as we bed in and gain the resources to release high-quality women’s specific clothing.

Some products have women's features built into them, such as the Softshell and Rain Jacket, with a very neat waist cinch. Though we do find shorter women find the arms too long. Taller women with athletic builds can wear the men's gear, but we recognise that most ladies will want and need to wait for specific fits for them.

Do please feedback to us what you look for in a garment and what you would like us to make for you. We are extremely keen to receive input and act on it.

Our women's merino garments have flattering stretch to accomodate varying bust sizes. We have deliberately chosen models in the product photography who are at different ends of the scale, so you can judge. We fit for each garment to be slightly loose, not completely skin tight.

MEN'S SIZING

Arm length is measured against averages. If you are very tall and slim, you may find the arms short, and vice versa. Don't forget you can try our garments for size and send back if in perfect (though pack opened) condition.
