The Vulpine Cotton Rain Jacket is a beautifully tailored and finished urban riding garment for all-year round wear. It has become a phenomenon in terms of reviews and coverage since it was launch in March '12.

It is handmade from Epic Cotton™, a fabric created by applying a microscopic silicon coating to cotton before weaving. This ensures that the Epic acts like ordinary cotton, which is perfect for tailored structure, but is water and wind-resistant. It is a highly specialist fabric and takes months to produce to such exacting standards.

What is key about this fabric is that the garment breathes, because the fabric is woven it allows moist air to escape, thus preventing sweat from building up. In many ways this is a far more comfortable rain jacket to wear than a heavily-waterproofed polyester jacket, which gets a bit 'boil in the bag'. Epic is better at stopping you getting wet from sweat itself, therefore it is more comfortable overall. And makes you more pleasant to be around.

The jacket has selectable reflective features. The cuffs are lined with soft highly reflective Scotchlite™ fabric, and you simply turn them back to use at night (ideal for arm indication) and flip forward the rest of the time.

Ventilation is provided with a classicly tailored open back at the shoulders, with a netting inner. The front zip is waterproof. There are magnet-closure flapped pockets at the front, and large pockets on the inside front. It does not have rear pockets like our warmer Softshell Jacket.

For those without a mudguard, a bright red splash guard unfolds from the back of the jacket, and is easily snapped back in place by a magnetic closure when you don't need it. The splash guard has a reflective lining and Vulpine logo.
