Wow, we're nearly there. 11 weeks after we launched and 6 months since Emmalou and I had the idea. Its all verrrry exciting.
What is the Vulpine Cycling Fete?
Its a free fun event celebrating diverse British cycling design, creativity and being jolly nice. Its not a trade show! Nobody has paid to have a stall, we just invited friends and those we admire. All they give in return is something nice to auction for charity.
You can meet the people who make the stuff you lust after, have a few shandies, eat too much and make yourself feel funny after racing on rollers.
We want anyone to enjoy it, whether your a cyclist, kid or simple fun enthusiast.
12-6pm, Bank Holiday June the 4th. The venue stays open until late, so stick around, but we'll be all packed up after 6 and having a few pints.
Balham Bowls Club
7-9 Ramsden Road, London, SW12 8QX
020 8673 4700
A beautiful tardis-like old venue. Its our favourite place. The Fete will fill both floors, including the Dining Room and the Ballroom!
There are some lovely back road bike rides from Central London via Battersea Park and Clapham Common. Or come via a few cheeky laps of Richmond Park.
Cycle Superhighway 7 goes just past the venue.
Balham Bowls Club is 2 minutes walk from Balham mainline rail station and Balham tube station, on the Northern Line, a short ride from Waterloo Station.
There is a good amount of parking, with many residents spaces free to use on the bank holiday and a Waitrose opposite.
If cycling, please note there is limited bike parking opposite the venue and nearby, at your own risk.
Look Mum No Hands! are doing their finest coffee, tea & CAKE.
Succulent Hog Roast (Balham Bowls Club is famed for its food).
Two lovely original bars serving ales, wines, pork pies, Pimms & the whole shabang.
Rollapaluza Roller Racing for 5-11 year olds.
Silly fete games on many stalls.
Nice dogs are welcome! We'll be bringing Lily the (in)famous jack russell and Archie whippet puppy.
Please help us raise money so that disadvantaged children and the disabled can share in the joy, fitness and freedom of cycling.
There is currently an International Ebay auction being held of all the gifts donated by each brand and artist. Please check it out. There's such things as rare art from Rich Mitchelson, a custom steel fork from Demon Frameworks, a brand new frame from Kinesis and even an entire range of Ts from Morvelo!
We are giving away a photo shoot and blog plus a Vulpine Softshell & Merino Jersey. See yourself in the bright lights, wearing the finest finery.
The charities we're supporting are Rollapaluza Outreach and Wheels For Wellbeing. Here's some photos from my day with them doing lovely things at Herne Hill Velodrome just recently.
Arts & Entertainment

Live graffiti from masked cycling muralists The Toaster, starting at Noon. The mural will be split up afterwards and sold to charity.
Bash The Rat and other classic British games.
Live painting from Will Barras. He will be donating his work to the charity auction.

Eclectic music from Dj Kill Your Idols.

British cycling brands and artists
Vulpine, Feather Cycles, Quarterre & Philip Deacon team up for the day's biggest stand, revealing the Vulpine custom steel bike for the first time (even I haven't seen it!). Ricky Feather will be showing brand new bikes and frames on awesome Quarterre cycling furniture, whilst Philip shows off exclusive silly cycling poster art and helps you Bash The Rat.
Donhou Bicycles & Rich Mitchelson- Bespoked Bristol winning framebuilder hooks up with Rouleur and Team Sky illustrating sweetheart Rick Mitch with his exclusive to the fete cycling Queen tea towel!
Demon Frameworks & Jason Devine - NAHBS winning framebuilder links with bike-loving illustrator and all round nice guy Jason.

We won't use your email for anything but Vulpine news.
